Yesterday we arrived in London as very tired Americans (and dirty too :-) Instead of going back to the hotel to shower we saw some famous sites in London. We went to Covent Garden and had lunch and did a little shopping. I bought a newspaper about the Royal Wedding. I know I'm silly, but I thought it was kind of cool. We then went to Trefalger Square where we saw the Olympic countdown and many, many people picketing about current issues. After that we went to Picadilly Circus, did a little shopping, and practiced the "Art of doing nothing" as our tour guide would say. After visiting Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, and Big Ben we ate a great dinner of chicken, fries, and peas at a neat little pub called The Albert. We checked in early at the hotel, showered, and our group was asleep by 10:00pm. It was a great first day even though we were very tired. Today included many adventures, but I will save that for another day! Hope all is well back in the states. It's a great day to be an American!!
