After our 15 hour train ride through the beautiful rolling hills of France, Switzerland, and Italy we have arrived in Rome! It is so beautiful here and it is everything I imagined it to be. To start off a great day, we enjoyed the pizza, pasta, and breads of Italy. The food here is phenomenal and boy, do they love to eat here! I'm sure enjoying that aspect! During the day we visited the Colosseum and took a tour of the inside. The site is absolutely phenomenal. It is amazing how the building is in such great shape after all of the years of turmoil and stress on the architecture. Animal fights, executions, and shows took place here. The history behind it was really interesting. Following this tour, we visited the Roman Forum. We got to see the remains of different Roman churches, political buildings, and theaters. Then, we visited the Trevi Fountain where we could throw coins over our left shoulder and make a wish. I made sure to throw in two for good luck! To conclude this great day, we enjoyed a 4 course sit down meal at a fabulous restaurant where we had bruschetta, pasta, chicken and salad, and dessert. We were one full Culver-Stockton group after leaving that restaraunt! I can't wait to see what is to come! Rome is my home away from home right now. I LOVE IT!
